2003: During a Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band concert in Jacksonville, FL, they opened their encore with Hank Ballard’s Let’s Go, Let’s Go, Let’s Go in tribute to Ballard who passed away two days earlier.

1994: Nirvana singer & guitarist Kurt Cobain was rushed to a hospital in Rome after overdosing on champagne & 50 pills of Rohypnol in his hotel room. Nirvana shortly cancelled their tour of Europe.

1986: Richard Manuel, pianist for The Band hung himself in his hotel room in Winter Park, FL. He was 42 years old.

1982: Rolling Stone magazine announced that Frank Zappa’s children Moon Unit & Dweezil have formed a band named Fred Zeppelin.

1978: The IRS raided the home of Jerry Lee Lewis & repossessed $170,000 worth of automobiles to pay off his tax debts.

1973: Pink Floyd kicked off their tour in support of Dark Side of the Moon at the Dane County Memorial Coliseum in Madison, WI.

1970: Janis Joplin was fined $200 for using obscene language during a concert in Tampa in November 1969.

1967: Ruby Tuesday by The Rolling Stones reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for one week, making it the group’s fourth number one single.
