2006: Courtney Love sold 25% of her stake in Nirvana’s publishing rights to Larry Mestel of Primary Wave Music Publishing for $50 million.

2000: Mick Jagger visited his old school, Dartford Grammar School to open Mick Jagger Centre, dedicated to the arts & music programs at the school. Jagger was quoted as saying he had spent the worst years of his life at the school.

1984: Greg Lake left Asia to be replaced by the bassist he initially replaced, John Wetton.

1978: The Clash’s bassist Paul Simonon & drummer Topper Headon were arrested after shooting racing pigeons from the roof of Chalk Farm Studios in London. Four police cars & a helicopter were required to make the arrest. They were fined $1,360.

1975: Jeff Beck’s first solo album Blow by Blow which went on to receive praise both from rock fans & jazz fans. It went on to sell over a million copies in the U.S. alone.

1974: The Ramones made their live debut at Performance Studio in New York City.

1967: The Beatles took part in a three hour session at Chelsea Manor studios in London with photographer Michael Cooper for the album cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
