2007: A Dunkin’ Donuts commercial featuring Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley taking part in their America Runs on Dunkin’ campaign debuted. The commercial featuring Frehley promoted Dunkin’ Donuts’ Iced Latte.
1996: John Panozzo, drummer for Styx died of gastrointestinal hemorrhaging after a long bout of cirrhosis of the liver. He was 47 years old.
1993: Guns N’ Roses had a case of drug possession against them thrown out by a Buenos Aires judge when the “drugs” turn out to be vitamins.
1992: The Charlie Watts Quintet walked off the set of Late Night with David Letterman after a disagreement with the show’s producer.
1977: Peter Frampton peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 Album Chart with I’m in You, Frampton’s first album since Frampton Comes Alive! The album spent four weeks at number two behind Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours.
1976: The Allman Brothers Band split up due to increasing differences within the band. They later reunited in 1978 & split up again in 1982 before reuniting for good in 1989.
1966: Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce & Eric Clapton formed Cream, considered by many to be the original “power trio”.
